Question is, why are you coming to study in Canada? There's nothing wrong with changing career streams, or doing different jobs or whatever, but when you're trying to get a study permit for Canada, your application needs to make sense in this context. Why can't you just study some more in your home country, for example?

This is exacerbated by the fact that you're applying to lower-end pay colleges

And when you talk about switching to commerce or something else entirely.. well, you really don't sound like a student then. You sound like someone who wants to immigrate to Canada and is willing to study anything to get a visa.

Don't get me wrong - I don't think there's anything wrong in wanting to immigrate to Canada (I'm an immigrant as well). However, IRCC doesn't want to give a study permit to someone who clearly isn't really coming here to study. That's what the officer said - s/he doesn't think you're a real student, and therefore you don't qualify for a study permit.

With two rejections, you need to rethink your approach. You're really not likely to get approved unless you can make a very strong case for being a real student.

For example - you apply to and get accepted into a good University in Canada (UToronto, Waterloo, McGill, etc) in a competitive program. The simple fact that you were accepted into this program will go a long way to proving that you're really coming to study. Unlike McIT, these universities will not just take anyone who's willing to pay.

So take a step back and think about how your profile looks to IRCC. Two rejections aren't a good sign - and completely changing your field of study really isn't going to help.

I would advise you to defer your plans for a year or so. Study/work in your home country, and then apply again after a year for a course that makes more sense vis-a-vis your profile.
Thank you for taking out time and sharing your inputs.

You outlined some important points. I'm definitely going to keep that in mind if I decide to re-apply. Thank you!

What was the reason you told them you were going and motivation to return back in your sop
Regarding why I wanted to go Canada
I tried to explain based on the recent work experiences( which is freelancing) I realized the importance of a proper degree in order to be able to integrate in the job market and how not having a proper degree in the field hampered my career growth . So I tried to elaborate on this point . Also I mentioned about my career switch.

I copied the below mentioned paragraph from my LOA.

Future Plans:
I hold plans to come back and get a job in India's booming web development market after completion of
my P.G. Certification in Web development and digital marketing from Montreal college of
Information Technology. India is an economically flourishing nation where businesses are
embracing technological advancement and striving towards establishing online presence
with each passing day. The increased demand for highly functional website has never been
more critical to the commercial success, which in turn have opened up myriad of job
opportunities for Wed developer and digital marketing professionals and companies are offering high value
packages to those who have knowledge of latest technologies. Returning as a certified professional. I will be better equipped for the job market. It will help me ensure that
my future will not only be secured but it will also be very promising; I can become a Digital marketer, Web designer. Later on, I want to make a lateral move to full stack web development.
The insight information that I would implement includes best development practices along with
marketing principles by utilizing key development t tools and
applications to reduce risks. This knowledge will in turn help me add value to the companies in
the form of quality management, release management, estimation and cost management. After
successful completion of this course and first-hand experience of multinational approach
toward problem solving and marketing techniques through experiential learning program
provided by Montreal college of Information technology, I will be having an edge over my peers
in the industry.
Additionally, working in native place is always rewarding as I will be familiar with work
culture, knowing the environment and the problems related to that. Moreover, I have a
feeling of belongingness hence; I want to serve the society here by adding value in whatever
way I can.
There is no way to master any craft without searching for ways to improvise. Learning and
implementing new skills is ultimate test for self-improvement. One must never stop striving for
goals and vision for future.

I suppose LOA only works when it's in tandem with so many other factors. I gave my best shot based on what I knew. Hopefully the new found insights will help me improve my overall application.
