Score will definitely drop to 469-470 in next 2 draws. But this

I am at 460. With retaking the IELTS - both spouse and myself - there is a potential that scores may increase to 465.
Considering the current trend, I feel that CRS won't reduce to even 465 and wasting money, time and energy again on IELTS would be futile.

Does anyone know what the ITA target for this year is? If they do 3400 per draws every 2 weeks then the total will be 88400.

1. Huge influx of dudes from the US (H1B)
2. Dudes from UK, AUS, NZ, EUROPE and other places do not want try options to settle down in respective nations (after studies) but simply want to flock to Canada as an army.
Not really sure why those dudes residing in already well developed countries wanna come over but rather not to settle down there. Even if they say they cannot get PR easily, I can prove to those dudes that my friends (IT, Accountancy, Hotel Management, Supply Chain Management) immigrated to Brisbane, Sydney, Auckland, Wellington, UK, France, Germany, US have all got PR in those nations (Excluding US, but they too are making a fortune in US) and are very very comfortable set.
3. Availability of doctored certificates (IELTS, MBA) from market at an affordable cost
4. Students who graduated (studying in CAD) of the 2017 to 19 batch are too huge in numbers and have now joined the club

Until there is a decline in the point 2 or 1, this increase in points will not come down and we may just keep dreaming about being in a good economy.
Dudes who have experienced 1st world standard in developed countries will flock to Canada in large numbers to continue living in another first world nation and we ll still be dreaming.
Sorry if I'm offending anyone but this is the frustration or situation of almost every candidate in developing countries who have done so much hardwork and are required to do even more hardwork considering the trend now

I can understand your pain and I hope I don't offend you either, but all the people you mention trying to come from other developed countries (other than your point 4) I believe will stand just the same in the CRS points level as you or I. Dont you think so?

I mean their credentials or scores should not be any different from what you or I have, probably the topmost level educational degree and maximum years of skilled work experience that CRS will accept. They are no different just because they have "experienced" living in a developed nation. Everyone is only looking for the security of Canadian PR which their current country of residence is not ready to offer. This opportunity won't last forever and everyone is scurrying. And let us not even talk about the US.

And I am not sure if certificates that are not legit will pass the scrutiny of the PR processing.

Just as you said, don't give up and keep your hopes up.

I am taking again for the 5th time, I have one doubt if anyone can help.
While filling out the IELTS form, can we choose an option that IELTS taken for personal reasons even if we are taking it for immigration?
If we choose personal reasons, there is another question with the asterisk sign, which country do you intend to go to, and can we choose Canada there?

I know this whole thing makes no sense, but I have a very strong feeling that they intentionally don't give bands if we say we are taking IELTS for immigration purpose and I have read one whole article on this that if we choose any option but immigration, chances of scoring good bands in writing is high.

Please help!!

This is ridiculous. I took the IELTS (General Training) exam on 23 Nov 2019, and I ended up scoring more than CLB 10 in all four modules on my first attempt in General Training. My overall band was 7 when I took the IELTS Academic exam back in Feb 2017. After living in Canada for a little over 2 years, I ended up scoring an overall band of 8 (L-9, S-8, R-8, W-7.5) with almost no practice. I guess not speaking my native tongue for two years helped me a bit. IELTS is not a tough exam after all. Had I practiced for a month or so, I would have nailed it with a perfect score of 9. It's funny how some people on this forum make it sound like it's one of the hardest exams one can take. With a solid foundation and some practice, anyone can get a CLB 10.

The trick to score high is to use a varied vocabulary. Using synonyms, but also using them correctly. If you use a big word in the wrong way, you’re not gaining points for the big word. Your losing points for using it in the wrong context. Often when we go in too a test situation, we like to show off how good we are, and end up making huge mistakes instead. Similarily, you will have points deductions should you (general you) use small words out of context. The consistent misuse of give is a perfect example.

Your entire first paragraph is a direct copy and paste of what I wrote a day or two ago. And, trust me, it is far from BS. You want high score, you need to have a really good command of the English language, or any language you sit a test for. IELTS is developed by Cambridge University in UK AND British born, raised, and schooled people have been known to fail it.

Understand the test and understand what the test requires of you (General "you". Not you in particular.) and you will nail it, receive high points, if your English is good enough to deserve the points. It is about format and it is about proving the level of English you hope to gain a high score for. If you get a low score it is because you deserve it (Again, general "you").

I deserved my first low score in writing (CELPIP), because I misunderstood the format they were after. Had my English been a low level I would still have scored a low point.
