Did you respond to the letter? Was it for proof of cohabitation?Nothing yet since procedural fairness letter
We only received one ghost update (on Dec. 27th) before we got SA/AIP/DM (on Dec. 14th).I got a ghost update on 30 Dec. (my BGC started on 26 Nov. and Medical Passed on 11 Dec.). Nothing else since.
How many more ghost updates usually before AIP/SA/DM?

Congratulations!Hi everyone,
I just want to share my experience with the landing interview that happened this morning.
My husband and I arrived close to 8:20am for our 9:00am appointment. I think we waited 50 mins until our number was called. We were so nervous! But don’t be because the people working there are really nice and they try to make you feel comfortable.
For sponsors, please bring your passports! It doesn’t say in the invitation letter because all it asked was photo ID and proof of address. I was going to show my drivers licence plus a hydro bill with our address on it but last minute I decided to bring my passport JUST incase. And thank god I did! We were told the PR card will take about 3-4 weeks to arrive.
After the interview, we went right next door to Service Canada to apply for a SIN #! Be sure to arrive early for your appointment because there are a tonnn of people waiting as well.
Yes, the guides IMM 5525 and as well as 5289 becomes very handy if you read it thoroughly. However, as suggested, asking for a help would still be better if you have difficulties later on.hi, I am going to apply my husband to Canada with Inland Application. But not sure if all my applications forms are the right one, can you tell me if I miss something. For sponsor (myself) : 1. Application to Sponsor, sponsorship Agreement and Undertaking (IMM 1344). 2. Sponsorship Evaluation and Relationship Questionnaire (IMM 5532). Are these 2 applications only?
For the person being sponsored (my husband, the principal application) : 1. Generic Application form for Canada (IMM 0008). 2. Additional Dependants / Declaration (IMM0008EP) 3. additional Family Information (IMM5406).4. Schedule A- background (IMM5669).
We both are over 65 years old, never married before (we both are first marriage). Does the person being sponsored (my husband, the principal application) need to submit #1. to #3. as well even though he has no children, no parents, no brothers and sisters? Or he needs to submit a blank forms of #1. to #3. with N/A. Then submit the OWP together with the above applications. thank you for your help. Atsui
Hi all,
We just received a letter asking for background checks from South Korea and Australia because we lived there for over 6 months, although in the application it only asked for a background check for
Anyway, they said they must receive the documents by Feb 15. However, to get the Korean police check, we have to mail documents to a friend in Korea which takes at least 9 working days, they have to go to a police station there and apply for us, and then mail it back to us. On top of that, I've read reports here that the specific police check that CIC asks for is actually illegal in Korea and many people haven't been able to get it. I highly doubt we will get it to them by Feb 15. Is there some way I can contact them asking for more time?
- The country where you (or they) currently live, if you have lived there for six months or more.
and- The country where you (or they) have spent most of your (their) life since the age of 18.
Also, the letter states "Please send the original police certificate to this office as soon as you receive it." Does that mean we should send original copies by mail or we should upload them on the documents section of the application page?
Thank you and congrats to everyone who has received PR now
CongratulationsHello everyone,
Today I became a Permanent Resident of Canada
I would like to share my experience. My appointment was at 1:30 so my husband and I arrived early to get parking. The doors opened to let us in at 1:15. It took us about 40 minutes to be called up to the counter. The Officer was really nice. I was anxious for nothing lol. She asked me these questions:
After I answered these questions she asked me to initial my signature beside my answers. Then she printed my COPR and gave me a sheet about what is required from a PR. Then I got my OHIP and SIN done on King Street and Upper James.Yes my hubby had to drive me all over Hamilton City to get these done but we were so giddy and happy we didn't mind
- First entry date into Canada and port of entry
- Do you have any dependents
- Have you ever been convicted of a crime
- Entry date when you decided to immigrate permanently to Canada
Good luck everyone!
