Anywhere between a day to 10 days basis the experience of few of the candidates. Wait at least for a week, if you don't get an update on step 2, then get in touch with them. For me, it took exactly a week.
I have yet to receive another update, however, I'm hopeful I'll get one next week. They accepted my documents on September 19th, 2019 (Step 2). I'll post here when I get an update.

In my specific case, I sent them electronically (CES allows certain universities to send their transcripts via email) so my Step 2 got updated in a few hours after they received them.
If I remember correctly, your Step 2 got updated on September 20th, right? I found it weird that you got your steps 1, 3 and 4 updated on November (again if I remember correctly). I don't know if it is the same case but my spouse application looks like this:
- Complete1. Initial Review In Progress Jan. 6th, 2020
- Complete2. Transcript(s) Received Sep. 17th, 2019
- Not Complete3. Initial Review Complete
- Not Complete4. Assessment In Progress
- Complete5. Assessment Decision Made Jan. 6th, 2020
- Complete6. Decision Dispatched Jan. 7th, 2020
Mine were all in chronological order. I emailed them and they said I went to Step 4 automatically and someone manually removed Step 4 because they were in fact NOT assessing my quals yet.
I am now in my 14th week, still at Step 3. Tomorrow is the last day of the 14th week and they said they reckoned I'm on track and that there are no problem with my application so far. I'll be calling them on Friday, which will be the start of my week 15, if I haven't heard.
Looks like your spouse's was accepted 9 days before mine, so theoretically I should get mine any day now. Fingers crossed!
Here's my timeline:

- Complete2. Transcript(s) Received September 19th, 2019
- Complete3. Initial Review Complete January 6th, 2020
- Complete4. Assessment In Progress January 6th, 2020
- Complete5. Assessment Decision Made January 13th, 2020
- Complete6. Decision Dispatched January 14th, 2020
As you can see from the timeline I posted, from September 19th, 2019 until January 14th, 2020 (around 15 weeks if you take out the two holiday weeks).
Oops, apologies - yes your timeline is right there! I totally skipped that and just read the last line, sorry. OK cool, so I shouldn't be waiting too much longer than next week if it doesn't come this week. I hope!

As per courier services documents delivered to ces on 9th Jan but status not updated till, add should i contact them on phone, it's been 8 days since the docs are delivered at CES, i think they are stretching time intentionally

Mine was received by them on 6 Jan and still no update. I called them yesterday and they told me it's normal and gonna take more time because they had 2 weeks break.
