Called CIC and they said my application is sitting in their office, it hasn't been sent back and I should call them by 20-21st, since my application is resubmitted to them its in a different Queue from before and they work on a monthly base period, they received my application november 21st, I Guess i'll just keep waiting and pray for the best.

How long after receiving the file does the local visa office start processing the background check?

Also, any one here with experience at the Nairobi visa office. If so, please share timeline of how long they give AOR 2/process background check.

I don't know if they want to return it to us or not, my husband called CIC and he was told our application was sitting in their office they haven't activated it into their system yet, please is this normal am very worried and i can't even sleep.

People who received AOR2 or Medical request., can you please share how does your ecas for PA looks like? Thanks!

Which files moves to CPC Mississauaga and which moves to other VO. Have you any idea...? I dont have..
This is just a guest, but it seems like people who got married more than 2 years before application get their file moved to CPC Mississauagua. And people who got married recently (less than 2 years) got their file moved to VO for a more in depth processing. As I said this is just a guess. People can share their experience to validate or reject this guess...

Not necessarily, our file was also moved to Mississauga VO but we are married less than 4 months.

  1. We received NAME's application for permanent residence on November 1, 2019.
  2. We sent NAME medical instructions on December 5, 2019. To avoid delays, please provide us with the information requested as soon as possible. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.
  3. We sent NAME a letter on December 13, 2019. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.
  4. Medical results have been received.
Status "In process" change and now "Application Received"

Thanks for sharing your case. I guess the reasons for dispatching the applications to Mississuagua or VO are still obscure. But we could add another layer on the assumption based on the country of origin?

There's no obvious reason of why some applications are sent to Mississauga and some aren't. There's been lots of rumors on this forum and none of them have been confirmed as there's always been a case that could prove those rumors wrong.
It's not based on the country of origin, nor on additional docs request, nor on first/second marriage, not on the duration of a marriage. There's a government project for a faster, easier process of some applications, but its details are not known.

All non complicated files that can be processed quickly "usually" get sent to Mississauga. If at any point a "more in depth" investigation is needed then the file will be transfered to the PAs local V.O (is what I was told by the IRCC agent)

Hi Belarusian
I got all those 4 points,SA status shows “ Decision made” but the PA side ECAS status still shows “In process”. So here AOR2 means the ecas status changes to “ Application received”?
Thanks

IRCC agents, if you're talking about those on the phone line, have very limited, distorted and often incorrect information. There are cases that are super straight forward and they are not sent to Mississauga. There are also specific countries, applications from where are also never sent to CPC-M.
What I'm saying is it's basically useless to try to guess if someone's application will be sent to CPC-M, as it's almost like a lottery.
