Degree from non-recognized institution...

My husband's Education Credential Assessment came back with the following: "Canadian Equivalency: Bachelor's degree from a non-recognized institution." I added it to our profile as a bachelors degree along with our ECA reference number, because the exact wording wasn't available. I assumed they would review the report and then decide whether or not to give us points. The university is in the United States and accredited through ACCSC, which is stated on the report. After I submitted it, it increased our CRS score 8 points. I thought they would review it first. Should I go back and remove it and select "no" where they've asked if we have an ECA?

Don't bother adding it. You can't claim points for that ECA.

Does it matter if I am the main applicant? My ECA came back with the equivalency of a Master's, so we got points for that. Should I still say I don't have an ECA on his even though we do? Would we not even get points for his high school diploma? We didn't do an ECA for his high school diploma because the Bachelor's is higher, so now we need to do another ECA for the diploma to get any points for his education at all?

No it doesn't matter if you're the main applicant. I know it sucks, I went through the same disappointment because WES does not recognize ACCSC accredited institutions.

You can add it and select no ECA or not add it all. However, if you claim points for it, your application will get rejected after AOR.

I even tried different evaluation services, it did not work out.

Such a shame. Thank you for helping clarify.
