Your Canadian equivalency summary mentions only one degree?Hi all,
I received my WES ECA report on January 2, 2020. Here are the two degrees evaluated and their Canadian equivalency:
Bachelor of Science Major in Accountancy (4 yrs.) - assessed as 3-year Bachelor's Degree
Bachelor of Laws (LLB-4 yrs.) - assessed as Four (4) years of professional study
Canadian Equivalency Summary - 3-Year Bachelor's Degree
Question: Does anyone know what four years of professional study means? It seems as if WES only took into account my first degree (undergraduate degree) in B.S. Accountancy. In our country, LLB is a post-grad degree and one must finish at least a 4-year undergrad degree before proceeding to LLB.
If you guys know of any other thread with similar topic, kindly inform.
Thank you in advance for your time.
@seadragon: That's correct. Confused at this point if I'm able to claim points for "two or more degrees" or just the 3-Year Bachelor's Degree indicated in the Canadian Equivalency Summary.Your Canadian equivalency summary mentions only one degree?
You can claim points based on the Canadian equivalency summary only so in your case it would be Bachelors's only. Your other degree was not complete since they gave it a study only equivalency? Did you send Provisional Certificate and Marks Memo for it? If you did then maybe they made a mistake and you need to contact them asap to fix it. Or else, since it is a professional degree, maybe you need somethings else like a license to claim points for it. Let's see what others have to say.@seadragon: That's correct. No chance they will do it faster. I also applied for an upgrade to my existing ECA report and they took their own sweet time to evaluate both my Bachelors and PG Diploma documents and I got the estimated completion date after almost two months since they received all the required documents. If they want to do a secondary verification, then your report will get delayed even more by a few weeks.Hi Guys,
Just wanted to confirm the current process of WES, for ECA we need to :
Also, I already have an ECA for my bachelors, and now I am upgrading to add another credential (PG Diploma). I understand that I need to send my Bachelor documents again, but would WES take less time to evaluate my bachelors as it is already verified by them?
- request University to send Sealed Statement of marks for us, and
- Degree/Diploma certificate (xerox) - I can post directly to WES without any attestation?
Thanks in advance!
Thank you for your input @seadragon. I did complete my LLB degree, in fact, the graduation date was indicated in the transcript of records/mark sheets. In the B.S. Accountancy transcript, the graduation date was indicated too. I was thinking maybe WES overlooked my LLB/made a mistake. From what I have read in other threads/posts of other members, they were awarded a degree for LLB, whether 3/4/5 years. With mine, however, WES did not even consider it as a degree. :-(You can claim points based on the Canadian equivalency summary only so in your case it would be Bachelors's only. Hey, that’s normal. They generally take 3-5 working days from the date of acceptance. You should be able to see some update by today or by Monday. My transcripts from India post shows that the package has been delivered on 6 Jan. But Wes says that they did not receive yet and has put my application on hold.I etting worried. Please share your thoughts.
