Beginner questions - Help needed!

Hey All,

So I am starting from scratch and am totally new to the PR procedure. There are certain queries that I would highly appreciate to have sorted out:

1. One of the requirements to be eligible under FSW program is to to have enough funds to settle in Canada. My question is whether we have to show the proof of funds when initially applying for FSW as well as after the ITA, or only after ITA?
2. Going by the current cut-off score of 472, it seems nearly impossible for me to be invited because as per my calculation, I reach a maximum score of 416, and this is maxing out everything including IELTS score (which I haven't given yet). If so, should I look into PNP programs instead or should I just go with FSW and let my profle stay in the pool?

1) I had a friend and his wife got the ITA and he said that they do not ask for proof of funds. Of course this is only his experience. Not sure if it's different for others
2) Based on the research i've done you need to be in the pool first then apply to a PNP program.

Based on the past draws, it's impossible to get an ITA with 416. Enter your profile in the pool then apply to the PNP program ( i believe there is a cost attached to applying to the PNP)

1. You have to show the proof after getting the ITA. However, don't think that you can arrange the money after you get the ITA - IRCC wants to see that you had the money for some time (usually around six months). If you show a sudden infusion of money (say you sell some property), you would need to have full and complete documentation to prove that this is actually your money and not just a loan you took from someone else.

2. Yeah, 416 is very low and your chances of getting picked directly (under FSW) are close to zero. There's no harm in entering the pool because there are various PNP programs that do pick directly from the EE pool. You can simultaneously apply for other PNPs - being in the pool does not stop you.

Yes, and then you would need a gift deed of some sort that proves that you never have to return it. That's fairly easy to get in most countries - ask any lawyer/notary about it.

Maybe a gamble - But, a signed letter for my dad worked just fine for me to get a PPR.
I agree that a notarized document for the gift deed would make things more credible.
