What would be considered a complex file or a simple file ? Outland application

for myself both applicant and sponsor never been married , have no kids, been together since 2013. We have pictures with each other, friends and family , marriage etc dating back to 2013 and documented communication going back from than to now all in Spanish . pa is a male and is 9yrs older than SA . We have letters from both side of the family, screenshots of social media , photocopies of wedding guestbook, we both also wrote detailed letters of our perspective of the relationship , proof of financial support and call log , video log history . Would we be complex ?

Based on the information you provided, it sounds like a "simple" case to me. A "complex" case would be one involving several "red flags" and so far you have none (based on what you have described)

What is considered red flags ? I figured the 9year ago difference and convos in Spanish my be a problem

Conversations in Spanish isn't a problem. There's no requirement that you speak only in English. The age difference can sometimes be a red flag, but not always. It would be more of an issue if for example, you have an age gap, you're from different cultures, different faiths, and your family doesn't know about your relationship. An age gap alone doesn't necessarily mean your file will be complex.

9 year age gap in cases where the male is older than the female is not an issue. A red flag would be more like 20+ year age gap. Now... if the female is 9 years older than the male, then it can be a minor red flag depending on SA's home country.

If both of you are freely communicating to each other in Spanish, then that is a good thing. It means there are no communication barriers. Being able to speak in the SA's native language is a big plus (it means you can easily communication not just with the spouse, but also their family). A red flag would be if the sponsor and the applicant primarily speak different languages.

Thanks all ! Yes , the pa (male) is older than me .
Okay ! Makes sense !!
I’m only just beginning the journey as we sent in the application dec 12 and just got AOR1 Jan 3. Super happy for the quick turn around , but I know we have a long way to go.. but was wondering if the quick turn around had anything to do with being a “simple” file ..or the office is just moving quickly ! Aha

The biggest wait is typically after AOR. Yes, now the long wait begins. But so far your application looks strong so just be patient and I'm sure it will turn out good!

No, I don't think AOR is really an indication of anything other than the time it takes them to actually look at your application, consider it complete, and create an application number.

If it's processed by CPC Mississauga instead of the local visa office, then that's a better indication that it's considered a simple file.

I was told that only case from USA go there .
Mine will be going to Mexico unfortunately, so I am ready for a long wait.

Also sounds like you have spent a lot of time together in person. That is not the case in many marriages.
We didn’t want to rush anything and wanted to make sure that marriage and marriage to each other was really what we wanted . We also outlined this in our application because I figured that the long wait to file may have been seen as weird since it’s not the norm like you mentioned.. plus I was super young when we first met, so marriage was not something I was emotionally and money wise ready for

Not only cases from the US. There are many Indian applicants and some other nationalities that are processed there as well (you can check the various trackers for more details). Mexico can be a little long, but fingers crossed for you!

It is clear that you and your husband did not rush, and carefully thought this through. Another reason why I think you have a strong case.

Thanks greatly appreciated. I hope they see it that way and not as a negative as it’s not the norm !
