Hi All,
I have a friend who has received closed Work permit but unfortunately his wife is diagnosed with Cancer. Can he still apply for her spousal open work permit? What are the chances of success??

She will fail the medical. She needs to complete her cancer treatment first.

Will this be of any help if her uncle who is a Canadian Citizen, gives in writing that he will be financially supporting her treatments, boarding and lodging

No. The issue is that she may end up qualifying for provincial health care and would be a burden to the health care system. As I said, she needs to finish treatment in her country.
