Need some advice

Hello everyone!

Really cool forum you have here. I just need a little advice in terms of what options I have when it comes to migrating to Canada. I’ve tried the express entry eligibility and I was told I’m not qualified the moment I select “no” for the “do I have a job offer in Canada” question.

Age: 25
Education: Associates degree in Graphic Design & Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology
Martial status: Single
Kids: 0
Actual work experience: 2+ years, I’ve had other jobs but nothing to shout about as they were not related to my field or study.
Citizen of: Saint Lucia

So how can I migrate to Canada? I can provide more information if needed.

Any advice would be appreciated!

You don't need a job offer to qualify for express entry. You were disqualified for something else. For instance, What type of work experience do you have. What's your language test score.

Assuming you don't have Canadian experience and will apply under FSW, to see if you qualify, calculate your six selection factor score.

The short answer to your question is that based on the information provided, you likely won't score enough points to be selected through the Express Entry program (right now you need around 470 points to be selected). You will want to look into re-writing the IELTS exam and achieving a significantly higher score so that you get more points. And you may need to complete additional and more advance schooling. You must also have at least one year of full time and paid work experience in a skilled profession to qualify. Depending on what kind of work experience you have at this time (i.e. how much, skilled / unskilled, etc.) - immigrating to Canada may or may not be possible at this time.

You're going to have to dedicate time to researching the various programs to see what it will take.

You were probably disqualified because of the 5.5 Speaking score. You’ll have to score at least 6.0 in every test to be eligible. You must retake the IELTS the next time you wish to apply. As scylla described, you have an uphill climb.

The best case is to score at least 8.0 in Listening and 7.0 everywhere else to reach the CLB 9 benchmark for extra CRS points.

The primary NOC you entered may have also been a factor if the job offer answer triggered it. Maybe your primary NOC is considered a skilled trade, and it tried to assess you according to the Skilled Trade Program, which requires a job offer or Canadian work experience.

For the Federal Skilled Worker program, you’ll also need at least 1 year of continuous full-time work experience in your primary NOC, provided it is of NOC type 0, A, or B.
