So PA went to service ontario and was given a piece of paper that said he will be eligible for his OHIP in 3 months. He was working for over a year on a working holiday visa (and then implied status) before he got his OWP so shouldn't the 3 month waiting period be void? Anyone have any link to a webpage for this?

This is just speculation, but I think to be eligible for OHIP in this case, only the work with OWP would be taken into consideration, not working holiday visa. I could be wrong..

Hmm... I had a PGWP and applied OHIP last year (before I submit my application). As long as the letter says 'Full-time', temporary foreign worker under Working Holiday Visa might eligible for OHIP. : http://www.health.gov.on.ca/en/public/publications/ohip/temp_foreign.aspx

I was a Working Holiday Visa holder for a year from 2013 to 2014 - reason why I didn't apply back then, it's because simply I wasn't a Full Time worker. I assumed it's rare to have a letter from Employer as a working holiday visa holder (who usually goes back to their country? or multiple part-time job, maybe company doesn't want to provide a full-time employment status to temporary worker..).

Hope my rambling helps..? :0

Inland common law sponsorship in Montreal. I’m a US citizen. Really hoping it goes quickly as I can’t leave Canada to go back to New York and visit family until it’s approved due to an overstay. I applied once before under conjugal and we were refused after waiting over a year. I still have my CSQ from Quebec and included it so I’m hoping they’ll accept it as it’s still valid. But my gut feeling tells me I have to redo the Quebec undertaking again regardless which delays the process and costs more money.

I can’t seem to renew status now as it’s been a year and so I hold implied status while my app is processed. Apparently the public policy allows for common law to be exempt from needing valid status as long as they meet all other requirements (which we do!) and as long as I stay in Canada while waiting I should be ok. This was all new to me so it’s kind of scary as my life depends on staying here with my partner and her kids.

Wish I knew about this forum the first time around I would of had PR already by now.

Hopefully it all goes well. It will be such a weight lifted when this is done. Good luck to everyone!
Hello habe you received DM yet?

Are there many of you still waiting for the background check to start? Seems like most of the July applicants already received it and now some August. Not sure if this is something to be concerned about...? Just trying to see if there's others from June still waiting. Thanks and happy new year!

I never linked my application as I used a representative. So I only access ECAS. I sent my application on 20th June. AOR was August 1st. There was a new line on the PR application side on ECAS saying " Medical results Received". I had done an upfront medical. I got my OWP on December 10th on my new updated passport. Rest there are no changes on ECAS or ay updates as yet.

From what I can tell anyone who applied from Quebec is at a standstill because of how slow the MIDI is going through CSQ applications :( We've been waiting forever!!!
