BGC = Criminality and security. Mostly likely your eligibility is passed as only after that the security starts.

However, to know the exact status see your GCMS notes.

Final decision - December 18, 2019: Your application was approved. Check your messages below for details.
Just got an update to my profile and then I saw this. Got my PPR on Dec 4th, submitted passport copies arrived at CIC on Dec 9th.
AOR Sep 4th btw.

There are no "messages below" about it though (so far)... o_O

Edit: The submitted return envelope's tracking is activated though, it's already with Canada Post and in transit...

Hi, just wanna ask. If they give you the PR, where will they base your first entry to Canada? And is it possible to delay your entry in order to delay the activation of the 5-year validity of the PR?

@legalfalcon can you please add me to whatsapp group?

I got following response for the web form query:

"It is currently being processed at the local office in Montréal, Quebec.
Since your application was received on September 6, 2019, it is still within regular processing times.
All the required documents and information have been received by the responsible office for the moment. "

Anyone here with VO as Montréal? It seems to be on the slower side with processing times?

You can always renew the card before it expires. It doesn't matter if you delay it or not

After your application is approved you will be issued a visa (if you are not from a visa exempt country). You will have to land in Canada before the visa expiry date. Upon landing your first PR card will be issued automatically and will be sent to the address that you would have provided when you landing or updated later after landing.

A friend's VO was Montreal and I think it's one of the worst places to have your application processed. His application took a total of almost 11 months but per his GCMS notes, his application was proved on the 7th month. He kept calling and sending webforms and nothing happened until he wrote to the MP and boom, after 2 days, he got a call from CIC to schedule a landing interview.

I just called and received an update that my eligibility and criminality have passed and security is in progress.

Exciting to get a progress update! Or should I not be?
