Lost of status as a worker

I have recently (november 25, 2019) lost my status as a worker in canada and my employer has been waiting on the Lmia letter that she say she should get by January 2020 but i cant work as i have lost my status... do i need the lmia to apply to restore my status or can i applyto restore my status untill i get the lmia?? How long will it take for the restoration process?? Can someone tell me my best option here plz?

I would recommend that you restore your status to visitor now so that you don't run out of time. Restoration can take anywhere from a few weeks to over three months.

Thank you for the advice but what would i need to restore my status as a visitor?

And if i restore my status as a visitor how long will i be granted in the country as a visitor if it is approved?

Apply for the status restoration to Visitor Visa ASAP, once you have the visitor status then you can later apply for work permit if you get positive LMIA.
Its never good to be out of Status in Canada. I know someone who was in the similar situation, he restores his status to visitor and got 6 months of visitor record and later he got his work permit.

Hi, I am in the same situation.

My status is lost just a few days ago.
If I expected my LMIA will release in 60days, could I apply the restoration in 60-80days with the positive LMIA?
Or should I restore as a visitor right now?
