Thank you for your interest in visiting Canada. After careful review of your student permit application and supporting documentation, I have determined that your application does not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR). I am refusing your application on the following grounds:

I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.

I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your current employment situation.

I applied for a study leave at my Organization, been working there for 10 years.I studied Sociology .l am currently the Admin officer/ head of my Unit (Human Resource Unit). I applied for Autism and behavioural Science at the Mohawk University.I chose the course because it was related to my first degree (Bsc Sociology). I gave all supporting documents, bank statements, did not resign my Job,i applied for 2 years study leave without pay. For the approval,My Organization sent a letter of recommendation to the Permanent Secretary,to be approved by the Minister. Unfortunately, time was running out,i had to submit my application without the approval.I hoped to go study and come back so as to enhance my career but I was denied the visa. Please assist me on why I was denied and how I can convince them so I can get the Visa...Thank you.

I guess maybe you did not state clear reason as to why you want to pursue that major after 10 years. You need a stronger sop and documentation that states you are studying to get more experience then come back

If you are thinking of reapplication then you definitely need to order GCMS report because all the reasons mentioned above are very vague. Talking from personal experience.

OK...pls,what is a GCMS report?
well, it is a report printed from the software used by the immigration dept to track and maintain database of application. For more details check caipsgcms.com. I cant say much but I ordered from them.

Currently, Nigerian applicants have been faced with massive refusals especially from August ending till now (September was the worst). The refusal reasons were all generic like yours despite having a well packaged application.

Some few questions:

1. Who was your sponsor and was there any financial commitment towards the sponsorship.

2. How well written was your SOP. Were you able to show the correlation between your previous studies to your prospect studies or work experience. How did you describe your future goals and how it would offset the cost of an expensive international studies in Canada.

3. How do you show or demonstrate that you are economically well established.

4. What academic intake?

The gcms notes should have provide clarity but at this moment, the gcms notes for Nigerian applicants are all coming generic also. But if you want to go ahead to request it, its also a good idea.

Answer the questions, then I will be able to advise you further.

Good luck

Hi,
I had the same issue, I ordered my GSMC notes which I received last week. I found out that the VO was not convinced that my sponsor had enough money or asset to support my studies( but the bank provided had more than $45000) .Moreover, the VO was not convinced that I will return to my home country as atthe time I applied for the visa I was living in South Africa on a study visa which was expiring a month after I applied for my visa. The last reason, my SOP was not clear and well detailed. Can somebody advise what to do and I also need help with my SOP.

Thanks in advance
