hey guys

I currently live in US. I will be doing my soft landing in Toronto Pearson intl airport on December 23rd and returning back to US on December 25th. I am staying at a hotel but I have a friend in Canada whose address I am going to provide for mailing my PR card. my question is:

1) Is there a problem in telling them I will staying only for 2 days in a hotel and then returning back to US?
2) Knowing I am going to be staying in a hotel, will they still be ok with mailing my PR card to my friend's address?
2) Will they ask for verification of my friend's address in Canada?

"2) Knowing I am going to be staying in a hotel, will they still be ok with mailing my PR card to my friend's address?". It depends on the specific CBSA officer who processes your soft landing. They have the option to allow or refuse it. It also depends on whether or not they ask you if you are leaving again soon or not. If they don't ask, you are not obligated to volunteer the information.

General advice with CBSA is to only answer questions asked do not volunteer extra information. So as above if not asked if doing a soft landing or where you are staying or whose address you are giving for the PR card do not say anything there is no obligation to say anything extra beyond answering questions asked honestly.
