Hi guyz,
I am going to apply for Canadian citizenship in next week and then have a plan to travel to India for 3 weeks in mid of Jan 2020. Is it ok to apply for citizenship now or should I apply after I come back from India. How long it takes for fingerprint request and how likely is it that I will be getting any mail from CIC during the period when I will be away?
Anyone here who can guide me on the same to decide.

Thanks in advance.

Presently processing time very long. I applied on 8th FEB 2019, AOR in April 2019 and case is in process since May 2019, till date no interview as in my case test is notvrequired being 74 years. I have visited INDIA twice. You must apply before going and keep track, don't delay.

Thanks for your reply. Did you get any fingerprint request? or any mails from CIC within a month of application?

It takes about 50-80 days to get AoR at the moment (mostly the higher end). The chance of getting a mail from IRCC within the first month is very low. And you have 30 days to submit them anyway.

Realistically, the FP request will come after 3-4 months onwards (could come after a year too). Could also not get one.
