Surrender Passport in India and apply OCI- Please advice

Hi All

Currently my citizenship and my daughter file is in progress in Scarborough office and i dont think it will be processed in near future.

I wanted to go back to india and return to canada for test and oath. However my 6 year old daughter will still be in india at that time.

1. My question is can i collect her citizenship certificate and then apply for canada passort here in canada
2. Can i take her canadian passport with me to india and surrender her india passport in india and apply for OCI

Will the FRRO office in india accept that we surrender her india passport and apply for OCI from india

It would be of great help if you can please advice i am very confused

1. You can receive your childs citizenship certificate, provided you return your child's PR card during OATH. Which will render her without document to travel to canada if needed to.
2. You can take her passport to India, and apply to surrender passport in India and apply for OCI.

Thank you so much . one more quick question. Do you think i can apply for her passport in Canada as my wife will also be in India with my daughter. i think we generally need consent from both parents to apply for kids passport

You got it, be sure to provide a contact number that passport canada can reach your wife incase for verification, otherwise written consent is all that is required.
