Is IELTS important for study permit application?

The IELTS exam was not needed for admission. I want to know if it will be needed for study permit application. Thank you.

If you are lucky you might get the viaa but there have numerous people on the forums that have refusals specifically because of their language proficiency either they did not take IELTS or didn't got a Band high i would suggest if you have a strong case dont take the risk and just take the IELTS exam just to be safe
