What should I get while I'm in the states for my Sponsorship application

Following up on a previous post, under the financial support of my girlfriend and both of her parents, my Visitor Extension was granted until November 31st. With future plans to apply for being a permanent resident, I came back down to the states on November 14th to apply for a passport, making my total stay length about 15 months between August 1st 2018 and November 14th 2019.

I will be returning to Canada at the beginning of February to apply for an Open Work Permit and Family Class Sponsorship as common-law partners with my girlfriend. I want to make sure that I get everything I need while I'm here in Washington for the application.

I have the following:
  • Birth Certificate
  • Enhanced ID
  • Social Security Card
  • Passport
  • All previous documents relevant to entering / exiting Canada
I don't have any criminal history, but I heard some applications need fingerprints or background checks to be submitted as well. Because I don't want to have to come back if I've forgotten something, anything similar that I need to get while in the United States I want to make sure I get while I'm here.

I'm sure I will be back with another post when filling out the Sponsorship and Work Permit applications.

Thanks for reading.

TL;DR
What documents do I need to make sure I have from the US for my future Family Class Sponsorship and Open Work Permit applications? (Travel Documents, Photos, ID, any kind of checks, etc)

Have you looked at the application checklist?

You are required to submit an FBI certificate.

Yes, after looking through IMM5589e I see that while I'm down here I need:
  • Police (FBI) certificates from me and any family members over 18
  • Form IMM5406 from any family members over 18
  • Form IMM5669 from any family members over 18
I have no dependents or people accompanying me into Canada. The checklist on the website here says that I do not need any special additional documents.

What constitutes a family member that needs this paperwork? Only immediate people who are considered family? Everyone who is related by blood? My parents were divorced a long time ago and I no longer speak to my father.

That seems odd that, in my case, family member would then only apply to my common-law partner who is sponsoring me, yet all three of those arent automatically listed as something the common-law sponsor needs to fill out.

Thanks for the help, I'll take it as I've got everything then once these are done.

That is because the definition is generic to all types of apps. The sponsor doesn't fill any applicant forms out.
