Hello guys,

As my WES evaluation is getting ready, I've started to create my EE profile; but I have plenty of questions for you:).
Firstly, I have to mention that my tourist visa for Canada was refused about 14 months ago, and I had submitted my work experience in the related forms back then.

My work experience is as follows:
11/2013 to 09/2017; Company A, NOC 2252 Industrial Designer [Skill level B]
09/2017 until now; Company B, NOC 0211 Engineering Manager [Skill type 0]

*Company B is my own company.

I've finished my Bachelor's degree back in 2011, and my Master's degree back in 2016 in Iran.

1. Can I claim maximum points (3 years) of work experience if I choose 2252 as my primary NOC or not? I'm asking this question because the work experience I gained was during my Master's studies.

2. As I've read in other threads, I've noticed that by selecting "Self Employed" option in EE profile, you have to provide different type of proof, and I don't want to make the process more difficult. I don't want to claim points for Company B. If I mention it in my EE profile but not as the primary NOC, do I need to upload documents for this job experience after I get ITA?

3. If I mention both work experiences in my EE profile, will the system just count Company A's points since I'm choosing NOC 2252 as primary? Company B's experience is totally in a different skill type.

Thanka a lot

U can just fill in the work experience of that particular company for which u are claiming points in the work history section and the rest in the personal history section.

So what if they check out my refused visa application and notice the discrepancy? And what about my other question? Will I get the maximum points?

U should surely mention about Visa rejection.
And do u mean to say that the work experience u mentioned during that time are totally different from what u are telling now ???

Just 3 years of experience is enough to fetch u max score related to work experience

I will mention it in the personal information form. Is that OK or should it be mentioned when creating EE profile?
I don't want points for my experience in my own company.

No the experience is not different. But I don't want to mention Company B (my own company) experience before getting ITA. As you said, I just want to mention the experience which I want to claim points from.

I believe after getting ITA, I should just upload proof for my Primary NOC experience. Is that correct?

Since u r mentioning abt company B in ur personal history , thers no issue and the officer will also understand that its cos u are not claiming its points u have done so.
Only the work exp for which u r claiming points needs the documentation.

You need one year of continuous work in your NOC that you're applying for in your EE profile, the other experience you have obtained can be for another NOC, and it will still count towards the 3 years of experience.

Any other ideas guys? Is there going to be a problem if I don't mention Company B before ITA?

This is just my 2 cents, but I feel like you should just list the experience you have as self-employed in your work history.

Even if you apply on the basis of Company A, NOC 2252, they will expect that you have worked in this occupation in your most recent year before you have applied for immigration with this NOC in mind. Of course this is not the case, and so it will complicate matters because you are expected to have 1 year of continuous work in your NOC before you applied as your most recent work experience.

I say, if you are legitimately self-employed, and you have all the certification you require to work in your current NOC, but you were doing so through your own business, just give them details on your present self-employment and whatever supporting documents you have, such as invoices you've billed clients, or whatever contracts you've signed with clients.

Obviously, you have to verify that you have indeed performed the responsibilities and duties when you were self-employed that correspond to the NOC you're going to apply for, i.e. Company B, NOC 021.

Again, take my advice for what it's worth, but if you really need professional advice then maybe consult a immigration lawyer on how best to proceed.

I decided not to mention Company B in my EE profile at all. Then after getting ITA, I'm going to mention it in the personal history form. Do you think is that going to be a problem? If I get to go to Canada, I want to pursue my dreams in NOC 2252.
