I just thought of a practical issue while packing. What happens to electronics in the cold conditions of Canada?
I am carrying my laptop, phone and ipad. I was going to put them in a regular laptop bag and keep the phone in my pocket. But will close to 0 degree temperature require any special packing for the laptop and ipad?

Guess the answer can be influenced on whether you are travelling on public transport where you have a lot of waiting around or by car and also where in Canada .

Laptops are generally designed believe to work efficiently at room temperature so as long as not prolonged exposure probably no issue , whereas phones and ipads might manage at 0c although obviously should expect a lot colder than that in many areas of Canada where getting upto 0c in mid winter might be an exception .

If you google your specific models there will possibly be recommendations although I have never had any issue but then again a short walk to the car at each end little time for any impact
