Hi there,

I'm a 20 year old American actor trying to immigrate to Vancouver BC to continue my acting career.

I currently have 393 points for my CRS profile.

The only efficient way I can increase my CRS score at the moment appears to be having Canadian work experience, or to receive an LMIA. The problem is Acting Talent Agencies don't sponsor LMIA's, and in order to work in Canada it appears I need a work permit, which requires an LMIA.

In other words my understanding is that I can't get a work permit, so I cannot work in Canada which means I cannot increase my CRS score.

The only loophole I found is as an American Citizen I can live in Canada and work in Theatre for up to 6 months before I need some kind of Visa.

Is 6 months enough time that it would count toward Canadian work experience?
What is the likelihood I will be invited to apply as an actor with a CRS of only 393?
Also how am I supposed to get Canadian work experience without a visa?

1. Canadian Experience Class requires one year of work experience.

2. Through Express Entry, zero. Current scores needed are in the 460-470 range. You could do more research into PNP.

3. Complete a qualifying study program in Canada and get a Post Grad Work Permit.
