Biometrics request needed twice?

My wife received her biometrics request in Colombia over the weekend. Great.

However, she did a biometrics thing with photos/fingerprints last March for her visitor visa that was declined.

Naturally CIC wouldn't know that but I linked her application to the GCKey she had for the visitor app and her info says 'no fingerprints required at this time' and has the notes on when she did her biometrics and it's valid for 10 years.

My inquiry.......she already has an appointment at a VAC office in Bogota for the 25th. I also prepaid for the biometrics when I sent in the application thinking it was needed again.
Think it's just better for her to go for updated photo/prints so there's no delay down the road if they happen to ask? I doubt I'll get a refund for my $85 and it's no trouble for her to go for another visit on Monday.

Biometric given for visitor Visa doesn't count for PR visas. So one need to give again.

Even though the history for the last biometrics are listed and the status shows 'no fingerprints required at this time? After they sent a biometrics request?

Yes, that was the first line of my original post. She already made an appointment to go on the 25th for this current request.

CIC wouldn't have known that before sending out a new biometrics request until I linked the application yesterday.

I think we'll err on the side of caution and she'll go anyway. I already paid for it on the application order.

Old biometrics details will be replaced once you did again. Also under biometrics status will change as completed.

Hey everyone!

I applied for PR through Express Entry and last week I received a request to submit biometrics. I am currently in Bogota, and have been trying to book an appointment at the VAC but it keeps saying that there are no slots currently available. The website has been saying that for a couple of weeks now, does anyone know why?
