passports to cpc ottawa- january 2019

Is it really taking a month to get back the passports from Ottawa? My passport was delivered yesterday after 9 days delay by Canada post. Even though i sent an Xpresspost they took 9 days to deliver my passport from Toronto to Ottawa. Did anyone go through similar situation

Ours was delivered on the 4th. Approved on the 14th. No passport sent tho, only photocopy. And we used Fedex.
I have used Xresspost to send documents to IRCC before and wasn't happy with their service so I opted out not to use them this time.

Mine too, my passport was out for delivery on Nov 6, and it took 7 days to reach Ottawa. Good Job Canada Post.

Pathetic service. In the PPR letter it was clearly mentioned only Canada post can be used to send the passports. else would have opted for Fedex. Please us posted on the progress. I need to travel outside canada on 29th Nov. Hope i get my passport by then

Tracker got activated
CPC-Ottawa received our package on Nov 4th
MyCIC Status approved Nov 14
Return Tracker Activated Nov 15, at 12:56 PM.
Fedex Estimated Delivery is on Monday the 18th.

Congrats, Looks like people who just send passport copy are getting the return mail activated faster

I didn't understand why the passport has to be sent.
I live in Canada and I'm from EU country (no need to get a visa to enter Canada), I've just applied for PR, will they require me to send my passport? If yes, why so?
