TRV for a family of 3

Hello all!
I was wondering if it is possible to apply for a TRV for the whole family at a time. I've heard many say that I have to apply for visitor's visa along with my spouse, but will have to leave my child out of the profile. I understand that it is required to show ties to the home country, and becomes a reason to return.
But once I receive the visas, can I apply for my child's TRV based on our then present TRV, or do we have to visit Canada and return and then apply for child's TRV?
Has anyone seen such case?
Also, if going and returning is required, can only one of us visit, come back and we are able to apply for child's visa?

TBH, you can apply as Family.
You need to show strong ties, like every other person show.
Have to show PoF, every one else do.
Long story short, your evaluation would be same as other's evaluation.

I never heard that parents have to make an entry before filing TRV for the child.
I would suggest to apply as Family, you being the Family Representative.

I have a well paying job, good property and enough funds to sponsor my family. Leaving the child out first time while applying was suggested by some consultant to become another strong reason for returning back home. Can't say enough, I wasn't impressed.
Thanks for your suggestion, I will research some more.

If you have good job, property, your child school, any loan, they all counts towards a strong reason to be back after the trip.
Take your time for RnD around that stuff.
