I am writing this letter of explanation regarding my Study Permit which I have recently applied for. I applied for a Study Permit on September 26th, 2019, (UCI: 61713395, application number: S303722622).
On October 26, 2019 I received a letter from CPC- Ottawa, NHQ regarding my refusal for Study permit, which stated that:
1) “I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.”
2) “Your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of your qualifications, previous studies, missing mark sheets, academic record, level of establishment, language abilities, financial ability, and/or your prospects and plans.”
I would like to address this concern mentioned in my refusal letter:
In response to your concern that I may not leave Canada after completion of my studies, I must tell you that I have no intention of staying back in Canada after pursuing my degree from York University. One of the many reasons why I chose Financial and Business Economics as my major is because York University as it will help me understand the fundamentals of financial markets, financing of companies and the stock market in which I find very intriguing in the business field. After getting a degree in this major, there are several possible career paths I can pursue which are highly demanded in financial services companies back in my hometown. From my past experience, I was a Stock Market intern in a company, Centrum Wealth Management Limited, New Delhi, India. Ever since my internship, I have been amazed by how the Stock Market works in India. Pursuing this particular major as it will help me gain more knowledge and skills in Stock Market field which in later help me to pursue high paying full-time job in as a Stock Market broker. This is also one of the reasons why I will not remain in Canada after the completion of my studies.
More importantly, besides pursuing my major, I also plan to pursue a Professional Certificate in Real Estate which is exclusively offered by York University. I am from a business family and my father owns a Real Estate Company, Oceanic Homes, Pvt. Ltd. in New Delhi, India. After achieving this certificate from York University, I plan to grow my father’s business using my knowledge and skills which I will hope to gain from York University. The reason why I plan to pursue this particular certificate because I believe it will later help me to use valuable knowledge and experience in Real Estate utilizes that to take over my father’s company and expand it. Last summer, I got the opportunity to be a part of my father’s company as an intern which is further led me to develop a passion for the Real Estate market. As a Director of the company, the father invests in several properties and expands his business by selling or renting the properties in New Delhi, the company has fixed assets such as properties and land including my house. After getting my degree along with a Real Estate certificate offered by York University, my father and I plan to rent and invest in other on-going projects in my hometown. This is one of the other reasons why I would not stay in Canada after the completion of my studies and come back to my hometown to help my father with his business using my knowledge from the studies.
Besides my family business and career path, I am a very family-oriented person which is the most important reason why I will most definitely go back to my country as I want to stay close with my family members after I complete my studies.
I have travelled to many new countries and never overstayed in any of the countries. I enjoy learning about new cultures and adapt to new surroundings. York University is currently ranked #16 in Top Universities in Canada. One of the reasons why I chose York University of because of the location: Toronto. I have travelled to some of the popular cities in Canada like Vancouver and Victoria city, however, Toronto is one of many places which I travel to as it is the largest city in Canada. More importantly, Canada is a very peaceful country and has maintained a strong relations with other countries around the globe. All my life, I lived in places which has a moderate climate, however, living in Toronto will also give me the opportunity to experience a new climate.
In response to the second concern mentioned in the refusal, the letter is attached to this letter of explanation. Those are the academic records and my current mark-sheet from my current institution, University of California, Riverside. As per my language ability, I have completed my high school from an English-speaking institute, Brandon Hall School from Atlanta, Georgia, United States. Currently, I am enrolled in the University of California, Riverside, where I am pursuing a Business Administration degree.
According to my mother’s bank statements for the past six months, the closing balance of Rupees 19,27,432.21 is shown which equivalent to approximately 35,488.2 Canadian Dollars, which is sufficient enough to cover my tuition fees, residence, and meal as well as other expenses for one academic year at York University. This also addresses the concern of the level of establishment. With a considerable amount of assets and properties which are owned by my sponsor’s company which shows how well my family and I are established in my home country.
I hope that I have efficiently addressed the concerns which were mentioned in my refusal letter. Please find all the requirements documents attached to this letter. Thank you for your time and consideration.
