Those with undergrad degrees typically take a post graduate diploma - not a regular diploma.
The thing is I actually got accepted into the post grad diploma that I was interested in, however I was informed that all the seats were full so got transferred into the regular diploma course.

The regular diploma course contains the same topics as the post grad diploma (plus some more topics) so that's why I'm happy with it too. But ideally I would have liked to get into the post grad diploma. Is this a good point to mention in the statement of purpose or should I just leave it out?

My worry then is that they might misinterpret that in the following way: You wanted to pursue the postgraduate course, but after you were informed that it was full, you selected another course. Which shows that you were not determined about the PG course in the first place, because if you were, then you would have only wanted that and accepted nothing else.

Man this is stressful :(
