Hi all! :)

I have 9 months of work experience from my first full-time job, and 2 years of experience (ongoing) in my second full-time job. There was a gap in between employment, but both were within the last few years.

If I create my EE profile now, will my points for work experience automatically update to give me points for 3 years of full-time work experience in 3 months' time?

Does it add the experience periods together according to the number of days/weeks/months? How specific is this?

Thanks in advance!

Express entry calculates based on month. So if someone started on last week of Jan and resigned on 1st week of Jun, system calculates it is as 6 months.

So, if the first job's experience was as follows:
  • Starting 28 March 2016
  • Ending 13 January 2017
What would that count for?

11 months.
Edit: Do partial months count in terms of being added when they're from two separate jobs?

For example, if I ended employment 2 weeks into a month at one place, and started employment 2 weeks into a month at the next job, would those weeks be added to give me a month?

What I'm trying to avoid is submitting an application saying I have enough experience, and the officer comes back saying I actually need 2 more weeks, and I misrepresented myself.

Yes both experiences will be added n after 3months system will automatically upgrade ur CRS with 3 years points. Same thing happened with me.But all this will only happen if all these periods are within last 10 years...

Is that not strictly untrue though? I only worked partial months in the months of starting and ending that job.

Since the profile asks only for year and month, and not the day, are you saying if someone began work on the last day of a month, that month would be counted as a full month towards the total?
The system counts it that way. Cause system cannot determine if you started on first day or last day of month. However lot of people avoid calculating that way because when you get ITA, and provide documents, it would have dates and case analyst might flag it if they calculate manually. So they give additional time to negate any complication.

Okay, well it's good that when reviewing it, they calculate based on exact dates. Are those dates based on the info that is on my proof of work experience reference letters from each employer?

Say I have 1 week extra at one place, and 3 weeks at a separate place, would the case analyst add those together to give me an extra month?
