Hello I recently moved to Canada , I landed in March 2019 and ever since I start applying for jobs but no one even called for interview. I have 7 years of experience in structural engineering. I joined some government career development courses on how to create a resume and cover letter, I started applying using the new resume however I still get the same result. Therefore, I planned to study master in engineering I just want to know is that considered an overqualified qualification . and what are the pros and cons of studying masters

Masters is a pretty common degree these days. Have you applied all over Canada? Is there a need for structural engineers in Canada or is the market saturated? Did you do the research to see if there is a need for worker before immigrating?

Hello . Thanks for your prompt reply .

I have applied jobs all over Canada but I haven’t get into any interview . Well as I can see there is demand For that but most of them require P.Eng which I can’t get without Canadian experience . So I found that if I studied P.Eng I will be knowledge about the Canadian code and that might increase my chances to get a job .

My worries is only I will over qualified .
