Not generally recommended to arrive much more than 4 weeks before classes start. Be prepared to show CBSA you can support yourself before classes start as you cannot work until then

Dear my classes are starting from 2 jan 2020 and i am planning to go on 2nd December is it ok ???

This was in 2012...

Classes Start Date - 7th Jan
My travel date to Canada - 10th Dec

Had no problem with the visa officer , just normal procedure just like everybody else
