Complaint against Immigration Consultant

Hi all,

I have hired an immigration consultant on August 2018 for PR application.However, the services rendered were disastrous to the point of misguiding and delaying the whole process by claiming that my express entry profile was created and we are already in the pool, whereas in reality profile was not created.
In this regard, I wanted them to refund the amount that they remitted. But now they are saying that the refund is not possible.


what can I do in this.? How can i complain against them in IRCC ?

We first thought of giving a petition against them in our nearest police station, but many of our friends suggested that it would affect our pcc later. so What can I do in this situation ?

Where is this consultant located? Which country? Are they specifically registered with IRCC?

I am from India, and applied in a consultanctancy near by. The name of consulatancy is "Alpha Mary International Education"
This is their website link http://www.alphamary.com/.
They claimed that they are registered IRCC member, but I doubt now after all these cheating.

There is pretty much zero chance they are registered with IRCC. IRCC can't help you.

You will have to pursue this through the court system in India.

It shouldn't. However I'm not familiar with the India court system. So you should wait for further replies.

This is why most people on here would recommend avoiding any consultant unless a case is extremely complex. The process is not that difficult and there are always forums such as this to ask questions.

Unfortunately there are far too many not entirely honest people out there who prey on the fact people are desperate to immigrate to Canada.

In my opinion they must provide the IRCC registered membership number in their website.

I think they don't have valid licence to act as Authorized representative for Canada.

"IRCC won't deal with representatives who charge a fee but are not authorized"

"It's against the law to give false or misleading information in your application. You're responsible for all the information in your application even if your representative completes it for you. If you provide misleading or false information in your application, it could be refused"

You can decide whether you continue with them.

We didn't give them any false information. But the real problem here is, they makes us believe that they submitted our profile in express entry and in reality they didn't do anything for us. They just delayed the whole process .
Also we have already informed them to withdraw our application. When asked for the refund, they just refused.

There are many immigration consultants who assure false commitments for collecting money from people and later they deny to refund when things not going positive. You can file an online consumer complaint against them if you have proper receipts and other documents (like email communications etc). There are many online (free) consumer compliant forums like https://www.consumercomplaints.in/ - you can post your complete detail and ask for refund. This process will not have any effect on your PCC as its directly been handled with the consumer and the service provider.
