So IRCC got my application Jan 23rd, they've had it just over nine months. In progress April, FPs done in May.

In around 6 weeks time, mid-December I go on an international trip (ie: not easy to change/fly back from) until Jan 1st. Now while I'm not at all convinced IRCC have any plans on sending me a test invite prior to the snow arriving and disappearing again - I am concerned they invite me say December 17th which would be a problem.

I assume my best bet here is to send them a note via the webform (this one: https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx ?) pretty much right now, to inform them I'll be out of the country and to schedule any test before or after my dates?

I say now because I'm assuming it'll take them at least two weeks (if not longer) to even read it?

I read online that you can leave Canada but you have to inform them if you leave the country two weeks in a row. They usually send you your schedule for test two weeks or more in advance.

Yeah my concern is they could send me an invite a month in advance, ie: in two weeks. So wondering if I should just contact them now.
Plus, the form I mentioned doesn't actually list that as a reason to contact them, so not sure if it's the right one.

To be on a safe side, it’s better to let them know right?

Same here. IP since April 25, none touched the file! What is their algorithm for this?
Who knows! At this rate and if we don’t hear anything in November then I doubt we’ll hear from them before the new year.

Same as me then, I imagine based on geography this office serves everything East of Yonge to Kingston. And they have the staff to deal with about half that number, and so our applications are gathering dust.

Because it’s nine months in and no test in sight and coming up to Christmas. Will be lucky to do test in 12 months let alone oath.

Exactly! I am not even sure they’ll make the 12 months deadline. My GCMS notes had March 8, 2020 as the date by which the eligibility assessments must be completed. I called IRCC and told them this puts my application well beyond the 12 months processing period. The officer on the phone explained that March 8 is the absolute latest date to finalize my application but they usually do everything they can to finalize within 12 months if not earlier.

Hi
I am new here. I applied for citizenship on Jan. 07, 2019. Application received Jan.09, 2019.
AoR : Mar 05,2019
Fingerprints requested : july 18
Fingerprints received : july 30
After that, I didn’t hear anything from them . My pr card also got expired. Do you have any idea when will be the test date?

Just received test invite today, please update my entry.

Question: The invitation notification email asks me to bring over all the original documents I submitted to support the application. I already submitted the original copy of the police certificate as asked by the checklist with my application. Just want to be sure, is there any need to obtain another original police certificate and bring it there?

Well I've submitted using the web form link I found. This is the automated response: If your application is within normal processing times you will not receive a reply from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
