Biometrics outside Canada

Hi,
I am in Canada on TRV while my spousal PR is in process. I got biometrics request. But I heard I cannot give biometrics inside Canada. is it true that I have to leave Canada to give biometrics? If so is it possible to give in any country near to Canada? Any suggestion about nearest country to biometrics? Also will it be a problem to return to Canada again after giving biometrics?

Yes, you have to leave Canada. Many go to the US, though some have been refused entry by US CBP for going to do biometrics.

There is no guarantee that you will be allowed re-entry to Canada but would probably be fine.

If you need a visa to enter the US, your reason for entering doesn't matter. You still need it.
