I am in the process of Takeing the family and going north. I was suprised to see how fast I got a work permit, 72hrs and I was good to go. I am now in winnipeg where my wife hopes to law school very soon. All I can tell everybody is that whatever you do dont give up, once you do make it up here it's all worth it. We have yet to find ANYBODY that has not been the greatest to us. I am only 32yrs old and comeing from the USA up to here uou do notice that things are a tad bit more expensive but at the same time if you get sick you can actually go see a DOCTOR and not have to take out a second mortage on you'r house.

I'm american and trying to go to canada aswell. What route did you take ? Did you have a job offer or did you just apply for a work permit?
