Pretty high odds of denied entry at the border since the parent claimed asylum.
But the parent is now a convention refugee. (Claim approved). I just can't seem to absorb the fact that they would deny entry for a minor with US passport for just being rejected.

The fact that the parent is a convention refugee creates significant ties to Canada. You plan on having the child LIVE in Canada on a VISITOR’s “visa” which CBSA does not like. There’s a chance there will be no problem, it will be a risk you will have to take if you choose to have your child leave and re-enter Canada, a country that he or she does NOT have a right to be in.
