Hey everyone, does the medical cost money even if you have provincial health card? If so, how much is it? Thanks!

It sure does. And the cost depends on where you live, apparently. I paid $390 in total ($220 for the physical exam, $150 for the xrays and $20 for the bloodwork) if I remember correctly. :)

And immigration medical exams aren’t covered by provincial health.

Did you not receive anything for Background check? Does your background check states Not required? As that’s what mine says, but I’m not sure what that mean.

Hi Kerry,
Mine used to say "Not Required" when I first added my application online after receiving AOR and it was like that for a long time.
It just changed this week to "We are processing your background check." so my guess is that it shouldn't be too long now for yours to change as well. My application arrived one day before yours, and my AOR was sent 2 days before. Good luck!

Hi I applied for inland spousal sponsor with work permit.
Applied :May 28
AOR: June 22
Work permit:application returned due to miss 100$ for open work permit fee
Work permit and restoration of status As worker applied paid 300$ again on Sep 15
Medical request: Oct 11
Now this morning I receive an email that they need police clearance from countries where my husband lived for more than six months and air line tickets to come to Canada
But we already gave all the police certificates from counties where he lived before
Why they are asking now?
Any one have any idea

Police certificates are only valid for 3 or 6 months (can't remember which)
So maybe you requested them to early and then sent them with the application so that they expired?

I still haven't received med req but my app has been saying "We're processing your background check" since the day I linked the app. I thought all apps said that. I have no idea what stage we're in now.

For background check, what is the criteria? Do they ask you to provide police certificates from every country you have lived in before? How does this work?

Thanks!!

Every country you lived for more than 6 months - you should provide Police clearance certificate.

Found this in forum:

A PCC is valid indefinitely if you haven't visited that country after obtaining said document. For your current country of residence, CIC considers PCC valid for 6 months from date of issue
