Time taken for Final Decision and change of employment during this period - Canada Express Entry

Hi all, I have applied for Canada Express Entry and had received ITA and I submitted all my docs required in the 60 day window, after a month I got an update on my profile that my medical was cleared and I have to give my Biometrics.
I have now given my biometrics and I see on my profile that my background and final decision still pending.

On my profile I see there is a 5 months processing time for background check and final decision and also that it may take more time depending on individual case.

my questions here are:

1) Is 5 months a standard or is it possible for the background checks to be completed much before that?
2) Does changing employer during this background check period cause a problem or delays in the Express Entry process? ( p.s: Changing employer under bad terms)

Thank you all in advance and hope you can help me out with my queries.

May I also ask a question about change of employment?

My husband is a main applicant, has PNP.

He worked as a Programmer (NOK 2174) from 2014 till October 2018. From November 2018 till June 2019 he was unemployed and started Technical Support job (unprofessional) in July 2019.

We received ITA in January 2019 and submitted our documents in February (main applicant was unemployed at this time). We passed medical test, gave our biometrics. At this moment we are waiting for a final decision.

1. Do we need to notify CIC of new job and end of unemployment?
2. If we do can it have a negative impact of final decision as main applicant's NOC changed and he works at non-skilled position now?

Hi

1. The 5 month timeline is indicative and if you are lucky then it can be done before that. But for many applicants it take more than that also.
Follow immitracker to know the current trend.
2. In most of the times, changing employment doesn't have impact on timeline but in rare cases they do call and check the employer at the time of background check, in case if they find some suspicious.

Hi,

Did you mention on your profile that the job (as per NOC) ended on Oct 2018 ? and if you already did mention it on your profile at the time of CRS score, then it shouldn't be a problem that you have taken up another job later as the CIC requirement for that CRS scores have already been met.
When did you get your initial ITA, when did you submit all your documents including medical and when was the medical passed?, did you happen to give your Biometrics (new requirement since July 31st 2019) and if you did how many more months for decision does your CIC profile say?

Thank you for your reply.

ITA - January 2019
Documents submission - February 2019
Medical exam took place February 2019, PR profile says: Medical exam passed April 2019
Biometrics - April 2019
CIC profile stated that we should get an answer August 2019 (6 months from documents submission), still waiting for final decision
