Hi everyone, I sent in my application on the 27th of July but did not receive acknowledgement of receipt till the 3rd of September. Has this happened to anyone else, or does anyone know why this happens?

Mine was sent July 27th too and received by July 31st.. Then Sept.28 we called the IRCC to ask what was the status of my app cuz it's been 2months. So we found out that they sent our package back and I received it on Oct.7 then resubmitted yesterday Oct.8

Yes I noticed that too! Fingers crossed we have a similar time frame for PR approval.

I need an advise please, my passport is expiring May 2020. Would that mean that if my OWP got approved it will be only until May 2020 also? Should I renew my passport immediately?

Mine was issued until expiry of my passport 2021, I believe they will most likely issue your OWP until your passport expiry date. You have to call them!

That's right, they won't issue your OWP with an end date beyond your passport validity. I suggest renewing it.

I am sure they would only give you the expiry date the same as your passport ones.
I had that experience before.

Principal Applicant: Costa Rican
Received date: July 26th
ECAs says in process August 29th
I linked my PR on September 4th
My owp was linked on September 26th (they used my passport sequence number instead my actual passport number)
My partner never got AOR for my PR (we phoned them and they said that they didn't send us an email, but all looks fine at the moment)

Now, We are waiting for my owp.

We hope it comes soon!! Fingers crossed
