Are these scams?? I have a consult next week with a company that connects foreign workers with companies that have the LMIA (sp) . They say they have team there including immigration lawyers. Has anyone gotten a job offer this way?? Is it legit?

I would be very very careful. Tons of scams out there. If anyone is asking you for money in exchange for a job then it's generally a scam.

If you are offered a job, post the job offer letter here with your personal information removed from it and then we can advise you better.
There are many telltale "red flags" that can indicate a fake offer, and we have seen most of them....

It looks as if it's a "real" company but based on the Google reviews, I personally would not touch them with a 10 foot pole. YMMV.

Hi scylla can you please answer me

Hi everyone
I applied my work permit extension (lmia to lmia new employer) on 18 April its almost 6 months no decision yet file from 3 months on eligibility review. From 2 months I was getting a standard automatic email reply
( almost 10 times same )after raising webform :
Your file is under process will let you know when decision made...
But just today I got different reply that
With proper message that your request and document( a letter from boss for requesting my file to speed up) has transferred to concerning office.

Do you think it's a positive sign for me that somebody will look for my file now

Is that the only red flag? If they are a scam how long do "scam" companies typically last?
Red flags can also include whether an job offer includes any one of accommodation, food, flights as well as how long an internet address has been created.

Also no company or recruitment company can give a specific date by when any application might be approved given they have zero influence with Canada immigration.

It is usual when a company has an internet domain to use that for correspondance and not as per this one on their contact page a yahoo.com email address, just unusual same as would be using gmail . Maybe they have not organised things so is just unusual. Sometimes a physical address on a contact page can also be questionable and is easy enough through Google to check..

Note a sure you know that part of the LMIA process is for the hiring company to be able to demonstrate through advertising that there is no resident available for the job position. You did not share what sort of experience you currently have whether this was likely to succeed to have no resident applicants.

Basically is a case of if something looks too good to be true then it will be so all anyone here will say is tread carefully keeping in mind recruitment agencies are a business and not out to do anybody any favours. By all means go ahead with any consultation but ask upfront how much will the cost be to you.
