Can I work more than 20 Hours?

Hello there,
I am an international student and i know that i am only allowed to work 20 hours max per week but some of my friends say that you can work more if you haven't worked for some amount of hours previously in this year and the immigration only check total amount of hours for the year not for particular week ,Is it true?. So if i haven't worked for two/three months in this year can i do that amount of hours more in additon to the regular 20 hours per week?

Yes, it's 20 hours maximum per actual week, so you can't legally even do 19+21 over a fortnight.
