Hello everyone
I just have few concerns regarding my application.
We did a secret marriage both our families don't approve to it due to culture differences. We have know each other since 2007. We were in college together then I dropped my course and came to Canada.
In 2019 I applied for his tourist Visa that got rejected and after 3 months I went to India and we got married in private no one was invited.
After that we went for our honeymoon.
I have all the call logs from 2017till 2019 but I don't have anything to prove that we have know each other since 2007.
After the weeding we opened up a joint bank account, I have sent him money twice and we have exchange gifts. We have photos of our small wedding and honey pictures.
We got 5 letters from friends supporting our relationship.
Just wondering is that enough to proof our relationship is genuine.

Did you ever meet in person while dating before the marriage?

No pictures? That's unforfunate. Do you have proof that you spent time together. Maybe you went on vacation, did activities together that has proof, etc.

You will have to provide what you have. Did you send gifts to each other and have receipts? It would be best to have more than chat logs before you got married but if you don’t have other things to include there is nothing you can do about it.

I don't think anyone on here can be certain of what is "enough" proof, since every case is different, so just submit everything you can.

Definitely include a bank statement from your joint account, those letters from your friends, any social media posts you guys have made related to your relationship, a screenshot of your relationship status on Facebook (if you have FB), all the pictures you can possibly provide (since it doesn't sound like you have very many), chat logs showing regular communication, all the boarding passes you have from visits and trips together, any calling history (voice or video), having each other listed as beneficiaries on your life insurance policies and/or wills (if either of you have these), and as many receipts or credit card statements as possible from things you've done together or given to each other (including movies you went to see together, hotels you've stayed at, places you ate together, etc. and also include any receipts you have from expenses you paid for during the wedding and honeymoon, like the marriage officiant, renting the place you got married at, the rings, wedding dress, suit, cost of flowers, etc.).

Just get together everything you can possibly think of relating to your relationship for submission, and that's all you can do. All the best to you guys!

Thank you so much for all the information. Also I am not sure if marriage certificate needs to be notarized?? I have an online copy.

I forgot to mention that you can also make a statement in your application that you did see each other in person in 2012 and 2016 (matching the dates of your boarding passes), and that although unfortunately your pictures from those times have been lost, the letters from friends can verify that you visited each other at that time. With the letters from your friends, any of them that saw you together at those times and/or spent time with you guys as a couple should detail those dates and events to support that you were there visiting your partner even though you have no pictures. (Of course, if none of your friends were present at the time, then you won't be able to do this.)

You also mentioned that you were in college together at the same time. If you both have your transcripts from that college, you could include it in your application and make a statement to tell them to notice how you attended at the same time (and if you had any shared classes, especially point those out!), and state that you spent time together in that period.

Sorry I'm not familiar with whether the marriage certificate itself needs to be notarized; all I know for sure is you will need it to be translated if it's not in English. The translation may need to be notarized as well, but sorry I am not very knowledgeable in this regard.
