DO I NEED A JOB OFFER

Hello Everyone
Hope you guys doing great. I am a swedish citizen and I plan to relocate to canada temporarily to work. I am more interested in applying for a open work permit . Now I am a bit confused and I need some clarification from someone who is well informed about the open work permit ...
1. Do i need a job offer before I can apply for one at POE .. I get different info when I search online. I have a swedish passport and I know I can apply at POE but do I need a job offer ?
2. If approved at POE do I get my work permit printed out right away or do i have to wait 8 weeks ? Because if i have to wait 8 weeks I will prefer to fly back home and return once the application goes through
3.How much funds do I need to have ?
4. Is there an age limit to apply ? I checked online and was told there is none am in my late 30's but I want to be sure .
5 . What airport is best to apply for the work permit. I plan flying into Pearson. I flew in there close to 5 times so I prefer I just process my application there.

Well i hope someone helps me out. I will really appreciate it.

Based on the information you've provided, you do not qualify for an open work permit. You would need to qualify for a closed work permit.

1. You need a job offer and also an approved LMIA from the employer in Canada to qualify for a closed work permit.
2. You would get your work permit immediately.
3. There are no fund requirements but you would want to have several thousand dollars to be able to establish yourself in Canada.
4. No age limit.
5. Doesn't matter.

Thanks for your reply but I thought if you are from visa exempt country and you don't need a visa you do need a job offer ... please correct me if I am wrong

You are wrong.

Open work permits are only available in limited circumstances. Being from a visa exempt country does not automatically qualify you for an open work permit.

Again, based on the information you have provided, your only option is a closed work permit which requires a job offer and approved LMIA from an employer in Canada.
