Hey guys,

As you can see in the title, I'm very much interested in cooking since I was in my early teens but as you know Indian parents force you to take courses which has a good career even if you are not interested in it but I was immature at that time and thought parents know everything better, I can't blame them either. They wanted me to have a good career but after completing my degree 1 and half year ago, I have realized that I'm struggling a lot in a career that I have no interest and started to hate it, cooking is the only thing I did with a lot of passion and everyone in my family and friends started complimenting the food, I've cooked. They suggested me to become a chef and I wanted to be a professional one and decided that I need to start from the scratch like every good recipe suggests and I came across a diploma in Canadian college and very much interested to do but I've heard that it would be really difficult to get the visa, since I'm doing a diploma after degree. I know it would all come down to the sop, by reading my story, do you think it would be possible for me to get the visa? Thanks for your patience for reading this long story. :)

The challenge may well be trying to demonstrate how a commerce degree is at all relevant to any culinary course. All you can do is try to be convincing that such a course makes sense and will improve your prospects in your home country.

You need to ensure you chose a public college not a private one given latter would not qualify for a PGWP.

good luck

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I chose a public college and the main reason I want to be a chef is that I can start my own business back home with my newly learned skills. I guess the only link between commerce and being a chef is that, previously I've learned how a business works, now I want to start a business but with my own skills.
