Question about CIT 0002 question 13

Hi all,

Question 13 of CIT 0002 asks me to list "held immigration status or citizenship status in a country or territory other than Canada".

I am confused regarding what should be included.

I have held: citizenship in the country of birth, student status in USA (2002 till 2007) and many visitor visas in multiple countries.

My home country citizenship obviously needs to be included.

Student status in USA - I think I need to include it, but I am not sure.

Visitor visas - those are a lot. Do I need to include them? Even for 1-day trips?

No need to include student status , that is not considered as permanent nature.
You will give details of your birth country Only.

You need to include the student and visitor.. it's not the actual immigration.. but, if you got into any other country for employment, student, visitor, etc.. you need to list them.. the question has example included too. please read the heading of question again.

For temporary status, what would status expiry be then? Departure from the country? Expiry of the visa? "Depart by" date I got when entering?

Actually, I just realized that would be a problem: I have travelled when I was a child, I don't have that passport anymore and I do not remember travel dates. Visitor visas were definitely involved...

For student maybe yes.
But definitely not for visitor. That's not an immigrant status

What about dependent visa status (for example a teenager accompanies his family on a dependent visa in a foreign country outside of his/her citizenship)? Should that be included?

Yes as application asks for reason for child staying outside Canada. I listed in my son's application as "Stayed with parents while parent working in US".
Also the application doesnt ask just the countries outside of citizenship. So you need to list the reason for stay even if its in country of citizenship. I listed as "Vacation in India with parent".

Don't get confused.

Only citizenship/ PR / travel document (issued by some countries) should be reported.

Student visa, Work visa, Tourist visa - No Need to report.

Its about the child stayed outside Canada. So it doesnt matter what status outside of Canada and i told to give the actual reason on why child stayed with the actual reason that included status. Its not about which status to be reported, we need to include all the stays outside.
Looks like you are talking about Q13 in audult application but even here you need to list all statuses(including work/visa status - refer the help icon in the form).

Yes Q 13. I think we have to list only citizenship / PR / Green card.
