My husband got his citizenship in 2004 and since he is living outside Canada. He had never go back. Now he wants to apply for me(spouse) and dependent children(17 & 18 years old both had born before his citizenship ). He had applied for the citizenship of our 3rd son who had born after his citizenship and he got the passport easily. So now is it a complicated thing, as he had lived outside, throughout this period ?What is the best way to show the proof of intent ?can he show his income’s evidence(UAE) ? Or need to put funds in his Canadian bank account? How long this process will take? Do I need to hire some agent or its a simple task to do ourselves without the help of any legal lawyer? Thanks

He can apply for outland spousal sponsorship and yes, he will have to work very hard to prove his intent to return to Canada permanently. Proof of recent trips back gor job hunting, contacts he has for his new job in Canada, notice of resination from current overseas job etc.

Will you suggest us to file an application now? All these proofs we need to attach with the application or this they will inquire later? Should we mention that our children wants to do studies in canada? They have to start university next year but I am afraid its mot possible for them to start next year, as they won’t be able to get pr till then. Thanks

One more question please. For our youngest son for whom my husband had applied for the passport, we had filled the forms and had submitted in the Canadian embassy here in UAE. So what about in this case? Need to fill the forms online and send on their e mail? Or we can send through courier? Thanks

It is unlikely that the sponsorship will be completed before the next school year in the fall. How did your husband get his citizenship?

As previously indicated providing proof that your whole family plans to relocate permanently after not living in Canada for 15 years will be difficult. Having children who want to attend university/college only means that they will move to Canada. Having to prove that you and your husband and will relocate and remain in Canada are more difficult to prove.

Follow the directions. You need to include pictures so email is not possible.

My husband has lived in Canada since 1997 to 2004 . He had studied in university, did jobs as well as doing business but he had some personal problems so he had to live in UAE to look after his father ‘s business after he got sick.

Did he ever sponsor you or your children?

No, he will file the application for the first time. To be honest our basic concern for the pr is our children’s university education, that you may know for international students its very expensive there. They wanted to apply for next year means 2020 as their A levels will be completed then.

But i will also live with them in Canada during their education and if afterwords may be they will permanently live if they get a good job.

The issue is your husband needs to move to Canada and stay there not you. There will likely be concerns that he will not quit his job and move and work in Canada. Yes it is expensive although your family has really not been contributing to the tax base that goes to the reduced fees.
