I requested GCMS notes on 7 SEP 2019 and received today.

I had applied once for TRV in 2015 and got approved for 4 years based on my passport expiry.

Going through GCMS notes I found in 2017 there is TRA refusal under my UCI code. where as I never had any refusal as I had valid visa till Mar 2019.

I applied TRV on 4 August 2019 for one visit to meet Sister in law. Visa refusal reason : Not satisfied as no friends or relative. Though I submitted invitation letter.

Guys!! how can I take this up as this is a blunder.

What was the full refusal as stated in the GCMS notes.
"Approved trv in 2015. Declared visa refusal of US in Feb 2019. For tourism with family for one week in Oct; no friends ;no relative. HOF's income is modest and limited savings. Despite previous refusal. Not satisfied ecnomically well established. Not satisfied BF visitor who would depart Canada end of authorized stay. Refused"

I had shown 10K Cad as savings and was staying at in laws place. Apart from that, have been to canada twice wid family in 3 years.

Never had refusal but VO has stated in refusal.

Just a guess. I somehow think the officer mistyped and meant “despite previous approval” because the context is your limited savings and economic establishment.

or it’s possibly referring to the US visa refusal.

Yes that sentence doesn't seem to be the issue. Focus on the financial reasons as stated in gcms.
Well! What about no relatives where as that was stated in my application. 7 days trip doesnt require more than 10K cad funds when I am staying at in laws place.

What US refusal has to do with Canada TRV?

Its not the 10 thousand its your overall financial status they are commenting on its not well enough established in your home country. Dont understand your misrepresentation comment, if you wrote the truth its not an issue.

Well, what I am trying to understand is I have submitted invitation letter from In laws. Then how come VO has mentioned no relatives. Apart from that, there is a refusal letter dated 2017 in my GCMS notes where as I never applied for any TRV prior to Aug 2019.

In-laws aren't blood relations. Family definitions aren't as loose and broad here.

How is the 2017 refusal stated?

What US refusal has to do with Canada TRV?
The US and Canada openly share immigration information. We've found that in many cases, they influence one another.

" No relatives... so Sister in law aint relative? "

How is the 2017 refusal stated?

" refusal letter sent for different 179B categories"

"Agree! But VO can't make US refusal a ground for Canada and state " despite previous refusal"

Appreciate, if you can suggest what option do I have to raise these concerns to IRCC.
