Hi All,

I am having Indian passport nd work visa. My wife is pregnant . As I know Canada provide citizen to my baby.

What will change if we go back to India.

How it will effect my baby future as citizenship in both way Indian citizenship and Canadian citizenship?

Thanks

The baby can’t have dual citizenship. India makes you pick one or the other.

Look into Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) status - it's not really citizenship, but it will let your child travel easily to India, live there for long periods etc.

That's usually all you need.

You should do some research on what OCI (not OSC) is, and the benefits.

In any case, you're having your baby in Canada, right? The child is going to be Canadian and will not be able to renounce their citizenship till they turn 18. So there's really no choice here - besides not having the baby in Canada.

Does sound like the woman could return to India to have the child. It looks like OP is trying to get the parents to Canada for the birth. If they are denied perhaps an Indian birth will be preferred.
