Thanks for your advice, I have a casual job right now, and also have a new job offer, I’m afraid the new employer can cancel me if my Sin number expires. Please help me!
That may happen, however I would recommend that you call Service Canada, just to be sure of the step you may take.

But by the rule, you cannot as you will not have implied status and must wait for the permit before you start the job.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to know what number do you call(IRCC general number?) regarding your application and what kind of things do I have to have ready at hand?(UCI number and etc?)

Sorry I'm just really nervous. Applied June 6 and no updates on my account. Does that mean they don't need any additional documents from me?
Same day with me, no update yet. I call the IRCC yesterday and they said they were working on May 27, you can call 1888 242 2100, but you have to wait about 30 minutes to see the agent.

So you mean I cannot take the new offer when my Sin number is expired?

My understanding is that the implied status temporarily 'overrides' the expiration date of the sin. Legally, you should be able to take the new job.

Not all employers are familiar with the implied status rules though and so might be hesitant to hire. I would say call CIC just to be sure.

HI people, question: I graduated on Aug 30th from my master's program in Ontario. I have already applied for a PGWP, but my employer won't let me start until I get the actual work permit. I am thinking of flagpoling, but my Canadian visa expired, however, my study permit is valid until March 2020. So should I try flagpoling? Would they let me in? Thanks for your help in advance.

No, that will not work as you need your try to gain re entry when you go to the state. In your case, flagpoling will not work.

You don’t need TRV if you’re just going to the states using land border.

TRV isn’t needed if using land border to cross to the States.
