I don't think you are out of status. They just needed that payment. Did you send it back with the receipt for the payment? Also, I would keep a copy of the payment receipt, but you won't be out of status if you are still waiting on them to send you the OWP. They didn't refuse you, it doesn't sound like...they just needed you to pay for it.
Yes, I sent the new payment receipt along with the old one, now the fees are completed. I keep copy of them just in case

Hi guys

I applied to PR Spouses Sponsorship on May, I received the AOR on July 18th but my OWP was returned by insufficient payments on July 31st (received in the mail Aug. 6th) I sent it back yesterday to the Edmonton processing center.

If someone can help me, I would like to know, what are the current times to approve the OWP?

I'm really worried about because I felt out of status now, and I need the work permit for being able to update my SIN number and with that my Health card, because I'm pregnant and if it doesn't arrive soon I won't be covered by the due day.

Any advise will be more than welcome
If you are out of status, did you apply for Restoration?

If their previous status was expired when the OWP app was returned, yes, they are out of status.

Same happened to me and still not able to link it, my OWP was resent on Feb 27th and received on march 4th, unable to link it either!!!!!
Hi,

How do you know your OWP was resent before you actually received it in the mail? We sent an OWP + PR application in May. It got returned in JUne due to missing $100. We paid and resubmitted June 5th. Included the letter that came with it and original payment receipts. We received this last week:

This refers to your application for a Work Permit received June 20, 2019.

An application to change conditions or extend your stay in Canada can only be considered as having
been made if it is made on the prescribed forms and if it is accompanied by the required fees and all
supporting documents.

[X] You have submitted $100.00 with your application. The correct amount required is $255.00 for the
services you requested.

We cannot take any action in your case until such time as you submit a copy of this letter and the
following item(s):

[X] An additional fee in the amount of $155.00 is required. Payments must be made online at
www.cic.gc.ca. When you are finished, you must print a receipt of payment and include it with
your application.

[X] When you are finished, you must print a receipt of payment and fax it to 1-780-495-6450,
Attention *****, with your full name and UCI# on it, by August 28, 2019.

Please note: An eligibility review has not been done on your application. It is your responsibility to
ensure you are eligible for the document(s) you are requesting before submitting your application.

If you feel you are still eligible for the document you are requesting, please submit all required
documents in support of your application. Refer to the document checklist included in the
Application kit which can be obtained by consulting our Internet website at www.cic.gc.ca.

Note: Passports must be valid for the duration of your stay in Canada. Documents will not be
issued beyond the validity of passports.

We remade the payment of $155 and have faxed the receipt to them but are not sure if the whole application was returned. We recently moved and did an address change online but it had not reflected by the time we got the email. The first instructions says to print receipt and include with your application but doesnt say we should send an application or to where.

Any inputs would really help. Thanks

Hi,

I am in the same position. Sent my common law PR application along with OWP in May 2019. OWP was returned to me due to insufficient fee payments (I only paid the $100 and not the $155). The letter states the following...
"The entire package, including all the requested documents/information referenced above and a copy of this letter must be resubmitted"
Does this mean I should be resubmitting the PR application as well?

I am concerned since my work Visa expired mid August so have I now lost status to work until this gets processed again?!
Thanks in advance for your help

You don't need to resubmit the PR app.

As you now have no status, you must stop working. You need to apply for Restoration. Some have been successful directly applying for Restoration as a worker but others have been refused and the OWP app not processed until after AIP. Alternatively, you can apply separately for Restoration as a visitor and if approved, then try applying for the OWP again.

Whatever option you choose, it will be at least a couple months before you can work again, if not longer.

Thank you. I have read somewhere that I would have 'implied status' since my PR application status is 'in process'. I guess that's not the case then?

Nope. The OWP app is what grants status, not the PR app.

Ok. That's frustrating since I'm currently home in the UK due to a family emergency so I fear that I will now be turned away at the border re entering Canada.
So that's information you should have included upfront. You can't be out of status in Canada if you aren't actually in Canada.

A requirement of inland is that you be cohabiting with your spouse IN Canada throughout the process. Depending on how long you are gone, you risk refusal of the PR app.

You are not likely to be refused entry.

I knew I was taking a risk but the family emergency was more important to me at the time. They need to show some kind of understanding so I guess I'll keep my fingers crossed. Thanks for your help.

Hi, I have applied for OPW under spouse nomination. I applied on June 12 and my application is sent back on 18th September because of insufficient fee. Some hand written number is written on my fee receipt which I submitted along with the application earlier, I suppose its a UCI number.
Also, My application doesn't contain the proofs I attached along initially.
Does that mean my application is under process and will not go in loop starting from beginning?
Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks!

This is an OWP with an inland sponsorship app?

No, it is not under processing and will go back to the beginning. Do you still have status?

My open work permit application was returned due to insufficient payment (I payed $100 for the Open Work Permit Holder Fee, but didn't realize I also owed $155 for the Work Permit Application Fee). I made the additional payment and sent the OWP application back on Sept. 30th. I originally submitted the Inland Spousal Sponsorship & Open Work Permit application in July, so I was expecting to get the OWP soon. Do you think I'll have to wait an additional 3 months for them to start from scratch with the OWP application? Hoping that's not the case...
did you only send the work permit application or did you send the whole permanent residency package as well?
